About zh
zh teaches Chinese the way you'll use it: by reading. Its course gives you a few words at a time and a reading written only in the words you know; its reader splits any text into words and gives each its pinyin and meaning; and its review brings every word you keep back on the day you'd be about to forget it.
How review is scheduled
With FSRS (version 5, its default parameters), the scheduler Anki ships, aiming for a nine-in-ten chance you remember a word when it comes back. Every review you do is kept, so the schedule can one day be fitted to you.
